- Very sturdy hull. The boat was made back when boats were overbuilt. It's a tank.
- Shallow draft: can access the entire inland waterway.
- Large, easy to use Nav Table.
- Large, comfortable Fwd cabin.
- 2-door access to head- comfortable for having guests aboard.
- Both Setees convert to spacious single bunks.
- New install of Yanmar 4JH4 engine (50hp). Works great!
Gulfstar 37 Sailboat for Sale
Story
The current owners bought the boat in Annapolis in July 2006 and delivered it to CT. They had Derecktor Shipyards in Mamaroneck, NY completely remove the old engine and install a shinyGulfstar 37 Sailboat for Sale new Yanmar 4JH4. Derecktor also replaced the head, and took the layers of bottom paint off, down to the fiberglass, then repainted. It was a $30k job. Then, while living aboard for six months the owners cruised the boat down the east coast to Key West and the Dry Tortugas and back to CT. They found the boat was ideal for the trip. The draft was perfect for the inland waterway and while miles offshore, the boat sailed as fast as or faster than any comparable cruising boat. The roomy interior is perfect for a couple, and manageable for a few friends to stay the weekend. They galley is efficiently designed for use while underway or at anchor/docked. The fwd birth is large enough for two people to use quite comfortably. The head room is a big selling point, "you won't be bumping your head like most boats." In all the boat is very sound, sails well, and cruises fast. The boat does have cosmetic issues that need to be worked on for the boat to be in perfect shape.

Why is she up for sale?
The owners are selling the boat because they run their own small business and no longer have any time to spend sailing. They used the boat for their dream adventure in 2006 but have not gotten enough use out of her since then. Last summer they paid for an expensive dock space and never had time to take the boat off the dock. They have decided that it's time for the boat to move on to a new owner who has the time to enjoy her.
